Elevating Sustainability with Zenergize Battery Energy Storage Systems

Experience the next level of sustainability with Atlas Copco’s Zenergize battery energy storage systems. Since their introduction in 2022, these systems have been delivering clean power without compromising efficiency or the environment.

According to the 2023 Clean Energy Australia report, battery storage is set to play a significant role in the ongoing global energy transition, and Atlas Copco is at the forefront of this movement.

The Zenergize range, introduced by Atlas Copco in 2022, is designed to meet the growing demand for battery energy storage systems. These units, powered by lithium-ion phosphate batteries, are 70% more compact than traditional alternatives, ensuring easy transportation and usability and safety.

Atlas Copco’s BESS units in the Zenergize range can provide over 12 hours of power with a single charge and can be charged from very low to full in less than 60 minutes, minimising downtime for operators.

These units can function as stand-alone power sources or in conjunction with other sources like diesel, solar, mains power, and wind. When operated alone, the Zenergize system generates zero greenhouse gas emissions, and emissions are reduced by up to 50% in hybrid mode alongside a generator.

David Buttigieg, Atlas CEA Brand Leader, highlighted the ability of Zenergize units to offset diesel generators, reducing their usage and minimising both noise levels and emissions.

Customers can choose from a range of sizes that best suit their specific operations. As part of the expansion, Atlas Copco introduced eight new models, ranging from 45 up to 1000 Kva battery-based storage systems.

With Atlas Copco’s Zenergize range, customers invest in quality and longevity. These systems offer 40,000 hours of uninterrupted operation, an overload capability of 150%, and significantly lower total cost of ownership and maintenance.

Ennis emphasised the cost-saving benefits, citing an example where a 45kW unit saved about $1200 a week in diesel costs. With fewer service requirements compared to diesel generators, the Zenergize range proves to be a game-changer.

In Australia, Atlas CEA, the Australian distributor of Atlas Copco, handles servicing for Zenergize BESS units with trained technicians available to assist customers. As Atlas Copco focuses on battery and hybrid technology, exciting times lie ahead for Atlas CEA.
